Joan has been a licensed life and
health agent since 1973. For the first 20
years, she specialized in the small group market
in Southern CA, with clients from Malibu to San
Diego. During those years, she worked for
Sedgewick James (formerly Fred. S. James), BEST
Life, and AON (formerly Alexander & Alexander).
In 1993, she relocated to Corpus Christi, TX
where she worked for Acordia, a regional TPA.
She specialized in the large group, self-funded
market, with clients from Houston to Laredo and
south to the Rio Grande Valley.
During that time, she became
involved with the National Assn. of Health
Underwriters. She helped to charter a new
chapter in Corpus Christi and became President
of that chapter 4 years later. She also served
on the state board of the TX Assn. of Health
Underwriters as the Awards Chair in 1999 and
Education Chair in 2000. After returning to the
west, she helped to charter a new chapter in St.
George, UT and served as the President of that
chapter in 2004. In November 2004 she started
working in Las Vegas and moved here in March
2005.
She went to work for Orgill/Singer
& Associates in November 2005. She promptly
became involved with the Clark County Assn. of
Health Underwriters and was installed as
President in June 2008. She is also Awards
Chair for the NV State Assn. of Health
Underwriters.
She is also the proud mother of
one son and grandmother of two granddaughters
and one grandson, all living in Costa Mesa, CA.
